Aboriginal Artist Barbara Reid
Barbara Reid Napangarti commenced painting in 1987 and is one of the original female painters of the desert art movement. She was born at Paaya in 1962 near Tjukurla which is situated at the edge of a large salt lake, Lake Hopkins near the Western Australia – Northern Territory border. Tjurkurla is about 810 kilometres directly west of Alice Springs and well to the south of Balgo Hills although both are situated on the same longditude. Barbara's language is Ngaanyatjarra.
