This painting depicts the seeds of a grass referred to as munyeroo, a native pigweed which before cattle were introduced, was plentiful in Galya's country of Atnwengerrp. The tiny black seeds were ground to make flour for damper or mixed with water to make a drink.

As young girls growing up living a traditional lifestyle, Galya and her sisters learnt their Dreaming stories by watching the old people draw the stories in the sand.

In sharing a number of Dreaming stories with her sisters, Galya depicts the grass seeds as half circles spread uniformly across the canvas. Her exceptional sense of colour and design is evident in her paintings, displaying an exuberance and vitality reflecting the natural world of her country.

Galya Pwerle's story is told in a brief essay by Elizabeth Fortescue in a 120 page illustrated publication called "Art of Utopia". In this publication Elizabeth tells the story of the Aboriginal artist and her family in short essays. It also shows a range of images of paintings by the artists. The book is supplied with each painting by Barbara Weir, Minnie, Galya, Emily and Molly Pwerle as well as Teresa Purla.
